Challenge", a disc golf tournament for teams of three. It will be held on Saturday, July 31st at Jacques Cartier Park. Full information on the tournament is available at my website: http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/Pressbox/9615/treeoh.html All proceeds from the tournament will go to the Ottawa Disc Golf Club towards the purchase of new disc golf targets. Sign up soon, as the registration is limited to only 18 teams of three. Regards, Don Lane e: donlane@iname.com ************************************************************ CHARITY DOUBLE DISC COURT TOURNAMENT: Ever played Double Disc Court? Ever wanted to? Here is a perfect opportunity to learn a disc game that doesn't end in physiotherapy! DDC is a finesse game that is all about throwing. Teams consist of two players who try to defend their "box" while attacking the other teams "box". Two discs are used and are thrown back and forth until a disc is thrown out of play, dropped or one team has control of both discs (a bad thing!). The best part about this game is that IT REQUIRES NO RUNNING! You can register in teams of two or as an individual. We will make up teams from the individuals who register. All monies raised will be going to the Sharing Through Scoring fund raiser that the Fabulous Flying Flamingoes are doing this year. The charities involved are: The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Children's Wish Foundation, and The Wild Bird Care Centre. For more information about DDC or Sharing Through Scoring visit our website www.visitweb.com/fff and go through the Sharing Through Scoring link. This is being run at the same time as the Women's Hat Tournament (July 24th), so if your wife/girlfriend/significant other is out playing this is a the chance for you to play in Ottawa's first ever DDC tournament! Where: Sod Farm When: July 24th How much: $10 per player (charity receipts will be issued) Why: For fun and for charity! Contact: gavint@istar.ca If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me, Gavin Thompson. e: gavint@istar.ca ************************************************************ TO ALL SHAREHOLDERS IN ULTIMATE PARKS INC. We will be arranging to return the roster deposit cheques to teams who registered in time. I was planning on sending a copy of each teams registered players out to each team to verify the info. In retrospect I am not going to do this as it will take me hours to set this up. Some teams had difficulty entering the data and in those cases I will be sending the data out for confirmation. IF YOU MUST CONFIRM YOUR DATA EMAIL ME. Please only do this if you believe there is a problem with the data entered and you have not already sent me an email with the appropriate corrections. Here is a list of teams that will not have their roster deposits returned as they did not complete their registration. I strongly urge that the data for these teams be entered anyway - by the end of this week - so we can include it in the league phone book. I was planning to offer copies of the program (through Rogers) at the tournament along with the video I'm planning to do for the party. So, I was thinking, could we put the word out that there will be copies available of the finals and ask how many people think they might be interested in a copy? (This should include both the men's and women's finals.) This is just to get an idea, and to let people know who may not necessarily be at the tournament, who live in other parts of our true north strong and free.
