The Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association remains committed to the health and safety of all participants. As the landscape of COVID-19 continues to evolve, and uncertainty about federal, provincial and local requirements remain, we will continue to evaluate public health guidelines or other health and safety measures and their applicability to each season separately.
The OCUA vaccination requirement for participation will remain in place for the duration of all Winter Session 1 leagues and programs currently running. This requirement applies to all participants (including substitute players), members, coaches and volunteers participating in an OCUA league or program, who are legally eligible to get vaccinated in Canada.
OCUA’s vaccination requirement for participation will also extend through the upcoming Spring Indoor leagues and programs, until the end of April. This requirement will remain in place even if Public Health guidelines remove requirements for vaccination for indoors settings.
The requirements and guidelines for Summer 2022 leagues and programs will be determined and communicated with membership prior to the opening of registration.
OCUA reserves the rights to apply additional health and safety protocols beyond those mandated by government and/or sport venues at its sole discretion.
OCUA recognizes its duties under provincial human rights legislation to provide exemptions or accommodations in accordance with applicable human rights legislation. If an Affected Person is unable to receive a vaccination due to a medical condition or other grounds protected by applicable provincial human rights legislation, the Affected Person may seek information on the process for approval from OCUA by contacting covid@ocua.ca.
If you have any questions or seek further clarification, members can contact the OCUA COVID Committee at covid@ocua.ca.
Thank you everyone for your continued encouragement and support through these evolving times.
