If it is delayed we will extend the player registration deadline appropriately. I will announce when this is ready in a future Ultimate Happenings. -------------- Field Closings We need to close 3 fields at SouthPark (#2, #4 and #8) for next week. These fields are too wet to play on. If you are scheduled to play on these fields contact your division co-ordinator to find out where your game will be moved. -------------- Schedules Hopefully your captains have received schedules for next week and beyond by now. With some field issues and some teams bailing early this week we had some last minute re-arranging to make this all work out. If you are a team captain and you have not received your schedule please contact your division co-ordinator. If I have time before this weekend I will send another e-mail with the schedules I have for the next week. -------------- Directions To The New Tunney'S Pasture Fields Take the Western Parkway to Parkdale. Off Parkdale, turn into the first government parking lot on your right. Drive across to the far side of the lot where you'll see a field with an NCC park sign behind and below a low government building. That's Tunney's #1. Across the road next to that field and nestled (yes, I used the word "nestled in directions for ultimate!) against the Parkway is Tunney's #2. The field is to the right of the big tree, lengthwise along the Parkway as you look towards the river. ************************************************************ VOLUNTEERS WANTED TO ASSIST NEW TEAMS ON TUESDAY NIGHTS: Once again this year we have a number of new teams comprised almost completely of rookies. If you are a player with lots of experience and can spare a night or two early in May we'd love to have your help. These teams would like some pointers in strategy, spirit and rules. If you would like to help out contact Glenda Smith e: glendas@idirect.com ************************************************************ ULTIMATE FRISBEE DEMO/CLINIC: National Occupational Health and Safety Week The Occupational Health and Safety Agency of Health Canada in collaboration with OCUA is looking to put on an Ultimate Frisbee skills demonstration/mini clinic, Wednesday May 17th at Tunney's Pasture (Parkdale Road). The event is one of many which will be held throughout the day, and is meant to serve as an introduction to the sport and recruit interest in healthy living activities among the young professionals of Health Canada. As coordinator for the Ultimate event, I am looking for some Ultimate players with a bit of experience to assist me in introducing the sport to the gang at Health Canada. The event will run from approximately 12:45 pm to 2:00 pm. The space available will allow for a few demonstrations on the basics of the sport as well as an opportunity to assist those interested in developing Ultimate skills. If you'd like to help out please send me an email directly or call me at 957-6486 (w) or 792-1871 (h). Looking forward to hearing from you!! Sonia Patenaude John Grant ************************************************************ GOLF DISCS: Hi All. As I did last year (with Innova) I'm thinking of putting in an early season bulk order of golf discs to Discraft. If we can get to a total order of at least 25 discs, the unit price gets attractive (from $4.75 to $5.65 US per disc, depending on the model), so that with shipping and (possible) customs, included even, we'd be looking at about $10Cdn per disc. That said, anyone interested in expanding their selection, rounding out their bag or replacing lost plastic, is invited to browse the Discraft website (www.discraft.com), and then contact me with the details of the discs they'd like to order. You need to specify the disc model and the weight you want. I will place the order on Friday, May 12th, so please contact me before then if you want to buy some golf discs.
