************************************************************ U L T I M A T E H A P P E N I N G S Issue 189 - October 18, 2001 ******************* 3615 players served ******************** OCUA - The largest ultimate league in the world! (300 teams and 3700 members in 2001) http://www.ocua.ca/ "Be nice to people on your way up because you meet them on your way down." - Jimmy Durante ************************************************************ CONTENTS: - Indoor Winter Ultimate - Editor's Notice About Apartment/Room Ads - New UH Header - Found Disc - Lost T-Shirt - 6 Month Sublet (November To April) - Room For Rent 1 - Room For Rent 2 - Calendar Of Events ************************************************************ INDOOR WINTER ULTIMATE Due to overwhelming response, registration for Tuesday Night Indoor and Friday Night Indoor are now closed. There are still places in Saturday Night Indoor. The cost is $95 and runs for 17 weeks. It is from 11pm until 12:30am. To register contact Andrew at sni@ocua.ca For any other questions or inquiries please contact Gavin at indoorultimate@ocua.ca Thanks. ************************************************************ EDITOR'S NOTICE ABOUT APARTMENT/ROOM ADS - NEW UH HEADER Due to the increasing demand to use Ultimate Happenings to post ads such as "Roommate Wanted", "Room For Rent", or similar ones, a new restriction will be put in place starting next issue. The volume of these types of ads is becoming so high that they are overpowering ultimate related articles in the newsletter. The new limit will be 10 lines*. The ads will be placed in one common "section" near the end of the UH post (ie: "Apartments/Rooms" section containing all the ads). I've split up a typical ad of this sort into several sections as a possible way of organizing the information within the line limit: - 1-2 lines for a header (ie: "Apartment: $900, 2 Bedroom, Centretown") - 5-7 lines for a description and any other info you want to include - 1 line for contact info (ie: "Phone 555-1234, Email uh@ocua.ca") [* a line is 60 characters long] You can write the ad however you want within the 10 lines. Please send me the ads exactly as you want them to appear within the limit. I believe that this restriction is fair to the ad posters as well as to the readers. Enough space is provided to get the pertinent information across without overwhelming the entire UH post. Comments or suggestions (good or bad) are welcome. The restriction may be relaxed in the future if the volume of these ads dies down. Thank you for your understanding. On another note, I've slightly modified the header of Ultimate Happenings. I'd like your feedback, but can we use the Open Forum please? Or else, my inbox will get packed! :) I will start a thread. Thanks! Tony Argentina Editor - Ultimate Happenings ************************************************************ FOUND DISC At the beginning of October I found a white disc left by someone who played a 6:30 game at the field in Hull that's way north on la Cite des Jeunes. Tamara 729-5901 ************************************************************ LOST T-SHIRT Women's t-shirt, blue with Adidas logo on front.
