OCUA WINTER INDOOR REGISTRATION
We'll folks! It's that time of year again, time to start
getting ready for Indoor Ultimate! Here are all the details
you need to register for Indoor.
What is it:
Indoor Ultimate is played at Lansdowne Park under an air
pressurized dome. It's a fast paced 6 on 6 game played on a
field about 60 yards long and 30 yards wide (approximately).
The field is made of Real Turf, an artificial turf that
feels pretty darn close to real grass. Running shoes can be
worn, although regular outdoor cleats are recommended.
Gender ratio is determined by the gender ratio at
registration.
The options:
Tuesday Night Intermediate (96 spots)
75 minute games, runs from the end of November to end of
March, schedule rotates through 4 time slots (7pm, 8:15pm,
9:30pm, 10:45pm). Price is $185, which includes t-shirt and
GST.
Wednesday Competitive Indoor League.
This league is run by Jesse Bolan, and details should be out
shortly. Please wait for details on registering for this
league and any questions you have about this league should
be directed to him.
Friday Night Intermediate (84 spots)
90 minute games, runs from end of November to end of March,
Game time 11:00pm-12:30am. Price is $105, which includes t-
shirt and GST.
Saturday Night Beginner (84 spots)
90 minute games, runs from end of November to end of March,
Game time 11:00pm-12:30am. Price is $105, which includes t-
shirt and GST.
How Registration Works:
1) Registration is open from October 10th until October
28th, 6pm.
2) If, at the end of registration, there is more demand than
spots available for a given night a random draw will take
place to determine who will receive a spot.
3) At the end of registration, those that get spots will
have their cheques cashed, those that do not make it,
will have their cheques ripped up.
4) Captains will be selected based on the registration forms
and teams will be formed based on a draft by the captains.
How to Register:
1) Send a cheque made out to "The Ottawa Carleton Ultimate
Association" for the amount for the night desired. If
multiple nights are desired, please write separate cheques.
Send it to:
Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Association
C/O Gavin Thompson
1289 Lotus St
Ottawa Ont
K1J 8A9
Please do not postdate the cheque past October 29th.
2) Include with the cheque, the answer to the following
questions:
a) Name:
b) Sex:
c) Night desired:
d) Are you willing to be a captain?
e) E-mail address:
f) Phone number:
Notes:
1) People playing in the Tuesday night league are not
eligible for the Wednesday Night Competitive League (run
separately), and vice versa. This is to allow more people
the opportunity to play indoor. If people are attempting to
register for the Wednesday league, they are also encouraged
to register for the Tuesday league at the same time (if they
so desire). If they are selected for the Wednesday night
league, their name will be removed from the Tuesday night
list. If someone does not register for Tuesday league and
fails to get into the Wednesday league, there is no way to
register for the Tuesday league at that point.
2) People may only register as couples in the Tuesday night
league. Friday and Saturdays have the same timeslot every
week, so transportation should not be an issue. If couples
desire to register as couples for Tuesday nights, they can
do so. Couples will be selected based on the number of spots
requested by couples. For example if half of the people
registering desire to do so as couples, half of the spots
will be given to couples. If a quarter of the people who
register do so as couples, then a quarter of the spots will
be given to couples. This will give the people who desire to
register as couples an equal chance to register (not better,
not worse).
3) E-mail notifications will be sent out on the receipt of
the registration package (cheque and answer to questions). E-
mail notification will be sent out again when the order of
selection has been determined on the 28th.
4) Applications will not be accepted by e-mail, nor if
either the cheque or bio missing.
5) Anyone using junkmail filters (especially hotmail) will
probably have their notification blocked as it is sent out
in distribution lists using the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC)
field. During registration you should monitor your junkmail
folders.

Gavin.
