Returning teams will have until Monday March 17 to pay a $250 deposit in order to secure their spot on their night of play. All forms must be in OCUA’s mailbox by noon on the 17th, or be postmarked no later than the 17th to be accepted. The balance of the $950 team fees will be due at that Captain's Meeting / AGM on April 24th. If you have any questions regarding the process, contact our General Manager, Nick Roberts (gm@ocua.ca). ************************************************************ NORTEL FIELDS - LOOKING FOR NORTEL EMPLOYEES OCUA is in the process of trying to rent Nortel sports fields for the summer 2003 season. However, priority will go to the in house Nortel sport groups such as their soccer league. While this is more than fair, we think that a substantial number of Nortel employees play ultimate in OCUA and would like that fact to be recognized when we request fields. If you are a Nortel employee, and would like to help OCUA rent fields on your employer's grounds, please e-mail Jeffrey Taylor jmtaylor@nortelnetworks.com and let him know. Megan ************************************************************ JUCE CO-ED COMPETITIVE TEAM TRYOUTS Juce is Ottawa's hottest co-ed traveling team on a mission to win Nationals this year in Montreal and gain the right to represent Canada at next year's World Championships in Finland. Juce has a solid returning nucleus of players from its OCUA league champion fall team to build on. If you have the athleticism, skill, desire and positive team attitude to compete on the National stage then join us for this year's tryouts. Tryouts will take place over 2 weeks at the end of April/beginning of May. Please register your interest in advance with Captain Rick Mallon. Juce prides itself on developing undiscovered talent so previous touring experience is not a must. Party afterwards for all ultimate players at the Fergus Inn. Live DJ, free cover. Great Prizes have been donated, such as Gaia cleats (from the ULTIMATE DISC GOLF STORE), Daredevil gear, and the grand prize of field time at the Ottawa U field. The Tim Horton's Community Cruiser will also be stopping by with free coffee and donuts for players. Date: Saturday, March 22, 2003 Time: 10am to 5pm, captains meeting at 9:30. Location: RA Centre, 2451 Riverside Drive Tournament Format: 4/2 Gender split Each team plays 4 games Each game is 50 minutes long Entry Fees: $125 per team. Other "door" prizes will be given out during the day, including a grand prize for the winning team. This is the premier event of the season for all athletes, male and female ages 13 to 19, and the athletes will be competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals that will be awarded based on each athlete’s performance in a slalom race and a Giant Slalom race.
