If interested, please contact Claire Fern at: e: clairef@northsnrg.com ************************************************************ LOST: I left some big cleats at the Sod Farm on Sunday. They had orthotics in them and were Adidas turf cleats, size 13 or 14. Thanks Jack e: stimpy@achilles.net -------------- I left a green folding camp chair at the sod farm on Sunday night. I left it beside the field where we got bitch-slapped by Love Gravy. Thanks Jamie e: jnoonan@newbridge.com ************************************************************ FOUND: There were a pair of sandals left at the St. Paul's fields after Men's league July 9. I picked them up and threw them in the back of my car. They're Reebok's I think, pretty big, and were left at the field where Less Shame played against Macarena Dancers. Ken h: 225-0301 w: 765-2558 -------------- I found a watch at the Sod Farm on Tuesday night. It's a Timex Men's. To claim with a description they can call: Jane Barrett. h: 237-1082 e: jf_barre@alcor.concordia.ca ************************************************************ DISC GOLF APPROVAL!!! After nearly five years of coaxing, haggling, and various pressure tactics, I've now secured a park for a disc golf course. I have a signed agreement with the National Capital Commission to install a nine hole course. The site is Jacques Cartier Park (north) the same place we sometimes play ultimate. The nine hole course wends its way around the soccer field. My sponsor has yet to kick in the money I need to buy pole holes; Tommy & Lefebvre was going to have the course named after them, and would sell discs to recoup its ($2500) investment. I've been pressuring them, but haven't seen the money yet. So it's on to plan B. I have two options: find another sponsor (for $2500 a sign on site would read "X disc golf course"), or sell shares and do it ourselves. I'm keen to go ahead ASAP. As of now, I'm selling charter memberships in the Ottawa Disc Golf Club for $200.00 . A maximum of fifty would be sold, and the charter members would control the club - likely to become a limited company. The course will go in as soon as I sell ten (make that nine, since I'm in for one). Here's the larger plan: 1)sell shares, install course this summer. 2)re-coup the initial investment by selling golf discs, and by selling ads on tee signs on an eighteen hole course to open in spring of 2000 (likely on the land purchase site). 3)pay back initial investors, if that's how the club decides to proceed. 4)play disc golf and grow the sport in the area. If you want more info, such as a detailed budget, course layout, or other info, email me direct. If you want to buy a share, and become a charter member, email, or phone me at wk 724-5296, home 523-5784. Peter McKinnon ************************************************************ LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO LIVE: I am an Ultimate player formally from Ottawa. My girlfriend and I are coming back to Ottawa for October, November and December to do some elective time and we need to find somewhere to live, preferrably central or close to the Civic or General Hospital. We don't take up much room and we only need to be watered once a week. Thanks Curt Pitter h: (519) 672-1232 e: cpitter@julian.uwo.ca ************************************************************ TIME CAP RULE CLARIFICATION/RETRACTION: I guess I confused the issue a couple of posts ago when I tried to comment about our new time cap rule. The rule for time cap is: When time cap is called finish the point. The team that is up at this point wins. If the game is tied play one more point. What we would like to add to that rule is that if playing the current point (or the next point if the game is tied) takes longer then 10 minutes then end the game and call it a tie. We really want to avoid playing in the dark. Sorry for the confusion. ************************************************************ FOR SALE: I'm looking to unload a new pair of in-line skates that I just bought! It's a pair of K2 Flight 76 soft-boot in-line skates. They're the hottest thing in town and are sold out in most stores. The only problem is that I wore them for the first time yesterday and they're a 1/2 size too big. Blisters!!! I bought them for $380 incl. tax and I am willing to unload them to the highest bidder. Please spread the word. I can be reached at this e-mail, at work (see below) or at home at 745-9061.
