Winter Indoor Rules
Games are to be played by UPA 10th Edition rules, as modified by these winter
indoor rules.
-
All spares/subs must be agreed to by the other captain, if they do not agree,
they do not play. (use email, it works well) Spares and subs should come
from the bye team or from teams who play in that division (i.e. Tuesday Rec
doesn't have a bye team)
-
If you use a player that has not been agreed to by the other captain, you
will LOSE the game by DEFAULT if it is brought to the organizers
attention unless both captains agree to it.
-
Home team is responsible for setting up the fields and bringing cones. If
you as a captain don't have cones check with your team and/or the opposing
team to see if they can bring them. If you would like your own set of cones,
they may be purchased from the league (contact gm@ocua.ca) or at many
sporting goods and hardware stores.
-
Pulls that roll/slide out the side or back of the endzone are taken at the
point on the front line where they rolled out.
-
Pulls that fly out the back constitute a brick.
-
5 yard brick at the Carleton Fieldhouse, 7 yard brick at the Dome
-
No halftime or timouts. Rental time is expensive so use it to play. Playing
is fun.
-
Pull and receive from the back line of the endzone.
-
Only injury timeouts are allowed - Captains must have first aid
equipment with them, basic first aid kit and ice packs. Do not ask anyone at
either facility to provide ice, supplies, or medical attention.
-
8 stalls (foul/violation is 4, or drop by 2 depending on the situation, as
per 10th edition)
-
If the disc hits the roof or any hanging objects or nets it is dead, taken
directly below that point OR where it lands - at the discretion of the team
that did not throw it.
-
Captains are to discuss the following rules before every game, if they cannot
agree, the rules as they stand here are the default:
Division-specific Rules
The division-specific rules below take precedence over 10th Edition and the
General Rules above for the given division.
Tuesday Rec (all tiers)
-
The No Huck Rule: No points can be scored on a throw that originates
from over the half-way line on the field.
-
Discs caught in the endzone from throws that were more than half of the
length of the field will be returned to the thrower. The stall count will go
down by 2.
-
The no Huck Rule can be discussed by captains and if agreed can be removed,
but only if both captains agree.
-
Footblocks are out unless agreed upon by both captains.
-
Do not ask Carleton staff for anything!
Saturday Ultimate
- The gender ratio is determined on a per-point basis by the line fielded by
the receiving team, and the pulling team must match.
- The fee for drop-ins is $15 (bring exact 'change' please). Space is
limited*, so please email the coordinator, tallpaulsutton"AT"yahoo.ca, to
ensure you have a space and are not turned away at the door.
All captains and players should should bring a copy of the 10th
edition rules booklet for any discussions. When in doubt default to the
10th edition rules.
