Ottawa Junior teams make their mark at Nationals!

Ottawa's Junior Competitive Ultimate Program (OJCUP for short), recently competed at the 2023 Junior Canadian Ultimate Championships in Surrey, BC and in just (3) short days showed the rest of Canada what Ottawa Ultimate is all about! 

In total, (5) OJCUP teams competed - Wicked West, Wicked East, Ignite, Scorch & Blaze - at the (3-day) national event, and OCUA is incredibly proud of how all five teams represented the Ottawa Ultimate community. While all Ottawa teams exemplify Spirit of the Game, a special shoutout goes to Blaze who were awarded the Junior Open Spirit Title. 

Finishing the tournament with an impressive 5-2 record, Wicked West captured the silver medal - a record-setting result for the Junior Women's program. 

On the Open side, Ignite finished the 2023 national run with a 4-3 record, winning the bronze medal with a universal point victory over Vancouver's Vortex.
