OCUA & Motivate Canada Leadership Opportunity

OCUA is teaming up with Motivate Canada to offer a unique leadership opportunity for OCUA members ages 14 to 20 entitled ACTIVATE in Action. This leadership opportunity led by Motivate Canada focuses on “Youth Driven Development” through sport, leadership and physical activity. Motivate is inviting 2-3 OCUA Members on a journey leading an ACTIVATE in Action project, which is meant to inspire positive change to our community through activities and wellness. The ACTIVATE in Ottawa initiative aims at providing youths with the connections, strategies, and resources that will equip them with the confidence, competence and commitment to make a difference in their community. This project involves:

1)     Attending a Youth Leadership Forum (February 5-7, 2016): involves a series of youth-driven workshops and activities over three days that will give the youth delegates the knowledge and skills they need to initiate an ACTIVATE in Action project in their community. (Conference is in Ottawa, food and accommodations are provided)

2)     ACTIVATE in Action Project: The OCUA youth members will take what they’ve learned in the forum and partner back with OCUA to create and plan a project/program for other youths to get active and involved in the sport of Ultimate. The execution of this project will take place in 2016.
