Yang Xu

Yang made his debut in Ultimate Frisbee in 2012, playing along with friends at a park. Soon after he graduated to intramurals, OCUA summer leagues and more recently playing with a Mixed Competitive team (Leverage). He enjoys the athletic and strategic aspects of the game, but above all, he loves its welcoming and friendly community, which is why he wants to get involved with the OCUA board. Yang enjoys volunteering for causes and organisations he’s passionate about. His experience includes serving as the Vice-President of Philanthropic Initiatives with the uOttawa Science Students’ Association, as a Co-chair for the uOttawa Healthcare Symposium, as a board member for his condo corporation and as a league coordinator for OCUA. Having served briefly in 2023 to complete the remaining term of an outgoing director, Yang is looking forward to rejoining for a full term. He strives to help maintain a high spirit of games in the sport, while keeping the players safe and playing at high levels. Yang hopes to use his team player and self-starter skills to assist OCUA advance its vision and better serve the Ultimate community in Ottawa.
