Joined this week by league coordinator Chris Keates. We cover a lot of ground from trades and salaries, to caps and apps; forums and chirps and stats, oh my!
WIth regards to salary and cap compliance etc., what would happen if a team was not cap compliant but unable to make trades for whatever reason? Does Gary Bettman step in and force something to happen? Do you have to bench a player to get under the cap? Any other consequences?
If teams do not get compliant because the GMs are misbehaving, Gary Bettman spins the wheel of justice and arbitrarily metes out punishment, as all good totalitarian dictators do.
As I remarked to Keates after one of many bad frisbee things I did last Monday, "Poor decisions were made."
There were at least two instances where I decided it was more important to give the sideline an opportunity to chirp me than to play good ultimate:
1. The disc goes to Jessie on the sideline and Al, my mark, immediately cuts up that same sideline. Me, thinking I'm much smarter than I ever will be on the field, decide not to chase Al because Jessie won't throw at her cutter's back. Instead, I stand in the lane blocking that throw and Kate Cav smartly puts a no around force on. All the while, Al is standing open in the endzone without a throwing lane to him. Then, inexcusably, at stall 6 or 7, I turn around to go cover Al and leave the throwing lane open leaving Al with 10 yards in every direction to catch a goal.
2. I tried marking Pirate Travis when he was the iso in the endzone and got spin cycled. It wasn't pretty and I'm not sure I was able to find him on the field after that seeing as he put up 7 goals in total. It's a good thing getting scored on doesn't count against my fake dollars and only results in chirp of the week nominees and self-deprecating forum posts.
In the future, I strongly encourage people to help me find my mark when I play defense. Hopefully, before I completely lose my mark.

Such a scenario does not exist.
Teams can always get compliant.
