Parity Podcast Episode 309

Joined again this week by Hadrian Mertins-Kirkwood to set us up for the session 2 finals!

Hadrian's microphone connection was loose and unfortunately slightly crackly. Shouldn't undermine the content, but he'll try and do better next time.

Discussion of the poorly run bracket challenge hit the cutting room floor.

In the strictest evaluation of the variable bracket (i.e. picking the correct winners in the correct games): Jessie, Jon Rowe (who submitted his name in ALL CAPS), my wife Julie (who knows nothing about who's on what teams), Hadrian (who's done all the crazy spreadsheets and algorithms), and Mehmet are the top five.

However, I've thought it sporting to allow for more points to be awarded to more people (it's Parity and it's all for fun and who really has a bracket when teams can re-seed?) by awarding points to those who get winners right in particular rounds while also awarding points for those who get the strict game winners right. In this interpretation the top five are: Mehmet, Jessie, Travis, Jon Rowe, and Julie.

A disc flip (or other means) may be used to decide what point scheme selects the actual winner(s).

Placement game predictions are based on the selections in the bracket challenge - with ties broken by disc flips as one would imagine.
