UPI Daredevil Disc Golf Course

Founded in 2018, the original 9-hole disc golf course was designed in the wooded area behind UPI. The entrance was at the northeastern corner of UPI 18. The baskets were supplied by OCUA's official disc partner, Daredevil Discs, and the course was put together by local disc golf player, Geoff Rowland. The course was playable, but could not keep up with Mother Nature. Over time, the growth of vegetation was too much and the course fell into disarray. In 2020, the baskets were moved inside the perimiter of UPI and a new 18-hole course was designed with minimal maintenance in mind.

General Tips for Ultimate Players transitioning to Disc Golf

1. Keep the disc close to your body. (there is no mark to throw around)
2. Learn flat release. (DG discs are not the same as Ulty discs)
3. Full follow through. (remember no mark)
4. Full reachback on drives. (don't throw from your hip)

COURSE RULES

• Tee Times available 7am-4pm Monday-Thursday; 7am-7pm Friday-Sunday
  • ​All rounds must be finished by 5:30pm Monday-Thursday
• Close the gate after you enter UPI.
• Lock the gate before you leave UPI.
• Respect other players and maintain physical distancing of at least 2 metres.
• Never throw if there's a risk of hitting someone.
• Pack out what you bring in (ie garbage).
• The course is open to OCUA members only. Purchase an annual membership (link) and become a member today.
• The $5 fee will go towards UPI field maintenance.
• Groups will be limited to 4 people.
• Bring hand sanitizer to disinfect your hands before play and periodically during play.
• Bring BUG SPRAY, especially if playing in the evening.

The map can also be found on UDISC - a free app. Download and search for UPI course (1295 Manotick Station Road). Each tee is marked with spray paint, but if you can't find it, then pick a tee off spot that's everyone agrees on.
