Hey Parity Peoplez (PPz),
I have a Parity Pet Peeve (PPP). It seems the every game takes a minimum of 10-15 minutes to get started. This is extra frustrating when the previous game ends 2 minutes early to ensure that we start out games on time.
Can we as a PPzP (Parity Peoplez Population) focus on starting our games on time (or at least 5 minutes late) by arriving early, cleating and warming up before the game, and minimizing pointless throws?
Thanks!

Second that....
Totally agree with this PPP - throw around on the sideline before your game, warmup/active stretch before your game, have your pregame chat before your game, determine which colour you're wearing, who's pulling/receiving and what side _all_ while the previous game is going on. When the previous game ends, maybe do a few throws on the bigger field - then start.
A different PPP. Anyone who complains about the sideline statskeepers (speed/accuracy/flipping the score) without having volunteered to do it themselves gets "volunteered" to do the next 10:45 timeslot. Stats don't keep themselves and requires volunteers. It's also fun, not that hard, and in no way detracts from your ability to heckle a game provided you can multitask. Try it if you haven't already.

Following my own suggestion
Following my own suggestion while the 7:00 game was going on I determined with Kindha the colours, pull and sides - then had the pregame speech. When the game was over people threw a few discs on the field and then we started. This was possibly one of the dumber ideas I had last night (and I had several based on the throwaway stats) as the CEOs proceeded to put on a clinic of offensive talent including possibly some good fortune. Starting late, slowing points down, and using all the timeouts apparently would have been smarter to make the game shorter and the final score less sad.
Possibly paraphrased from their halftime huddle - "But our % on hammers, scoobers and push passes is higher than for regular throws - doesn't that mean we should just throw more?". I have a theory related to a regression to the mean on the success rate of some of their choices but that might just be the sour grapes talking.... ;)

I think many first points
I think many game have highlighted that extra throwing warmup does absolutely nothing to help put the first few points in the books. #turnovercity
So I agree. Let's get these games going earlier. I got throwaways to rack up!

Pet Parity Peeve -complaining but not willing to step up.
e.g. complaining about stats keeping styles but not being one of the volunteers to keep stats. IMO eveyone should have volunteered at least once per season. It will give you perspective AND it's really easy to learn. You will realize Matt Masse and Amy Roberts are a godsend, and it's a good time. It is noticeable that people who do it once, do it again.
Moral: Sign up, people! There a spreadsheet for that.

I 100% agree. In fact, I'd
I 100% agree. In fact, I'd go one step further to say that statskeeping at least one game during the season should be a requirement to play in the league. Matt and Amy take on a huge responsibility filling the statskeeping gaps every week, from which we all derive a substantial benefit. We could all do a little more to help them out.

This was discussed but ultimately discarded as an idea for the league because it's unenforcable. We recognize that perhaps not everyone is able to volunteer for this, for all the various personal reasons that you can possibly think of (and probably some you can't).
If everyone volunteered 1.667 times, every game slot of an entire 8 team 20 game season could be accounted for. As it stands, we have quite a few regulars that help out, and it is very appreciated by both league staff and league volunteers.

Stats keeping
Don't make me pull out the Mom-card people. "Did you put your laundry away before you came to the game tonight? Have you put your name on the volunteer sheet yet?"
I will follow up with, "I thought you played great, sweetie," as needed.

Alright
Fine! I took the 2nd and 3rd games for all of January! Mostly as a caller, but that's because I can't use my right thumb (and because I have not pushed those buttons yet).

Parnter up
If you're a first time statkeeper, pick your stat keeping partner wisely to maximize your sideline experience. I suggest Justine since she sees things others don't and is not afraid to geek it up once and a while ;-)
