Great work! Just being able to see what happened in each game is fun, but there's a lot of potential here to get creative.

Off the top of my head, a simple addition would be to have the running score next to each point. You could also distinguish between holds (offense scores) and breaks (defense scores).

And to be fair to the Higginses of the Parity world, the summary line should say "...point by [scorer] from [thrower]". You could even include each player's running tally of goals and assists in the game.

If that's too crowded, you could condense names and/or take out the point length, which I personally think is less interesting than some of the other data.

So altogether it might look something like... "Point Menace by W. Leckie (2) from C. Anderson (4): 7-5 (hold)".

...but no, that's never been me. I'm definitely thinking along those lines though. Basically, what are the essential pieces of information you need to get a sense of the narrative of the game?

Random other idea: there could be a little gold star next to every point that was scored without any turnovers! ★

These are the type of stats I've dreamt of for a while.

 

Something like: Offensive-Hold rate (O points scored/O points played), Defensive Break rate (D score/Dplayed), Turnovers on offensive points, turnovers on defensive points, points played with no turns (both defensive and offensive).

 

It would be especially cool if you could have each of these stats for each player. Then you could see if a certain player is on for more defensive scores when the team had a defensive possession. You could then compare their defensive stats to defensive scores and see if you could find people who are really good at shut down defense but don't get a lot of blocks!

 

It would also be cool if you could compare who throws to whom and how often. I brute forced that calculation for me and Jessie two years ago and it was a lot. It would be neat to see who the favourite targets are!

 

Similarly, you could see if one player is getting more D's vs. another player. Are all of Keates throwaways D'ed by Geofford? Probably not, but with stats we could find out!

 

Also, if I could click on someone's name in the team list and see all their events in that game, that would be cool too.

The AUDL stat site had this feature but all I learned from it was that over the frist few games of my career my favourite receiver was “Other team.”

Some of thst is already available in the endpoint data. O efficiency shows percentage scored when starting on O etc. Interestingly, O scores only about 60%

I also have a need to quantify how much more passes I am receiving than others. It's not only important to know that I'm getting more, but that I'm getting much more.
