Parity - Week 5 Highlights

Parity Callahan Streak: It continues! Hope got hands on a disk in the end zone on D and caught it for the score which is a Callahan!!! No, wait, she played volley ball and spiked it.

Oh, well, that's okay. Jim Robinson totally had hands on a disk in the end zone on a D and caught it for the score which is a Callahan!!! No, wait, he played volley ball and blocked it.

That's okay, COORDINATOR TO THE RESCUE! I pushed Rob Ives into the end zone and then totally hand blocked him and CAUGHT IT FOR THE SCORE WHICH IS A CALLAHAN!!! No, wait, I'm terrible and I killed the Callahan streak. It's officially dead, at 4 games.

You should all be ashamed.

I'd like to apologize to the entire league, and most notably Justine, for not wearing the power she bestowed upon me (the WWJD hat) last night. I paid for it dearly with my worst showing so far this season. But Mehmet suggested I have a brain last night which I felt mighty good about!

Also the Laura Knowles vs Ashlin Kelly "Let's run all over the place" match up was awesome to watch.

I'd like to add Ariel to the highlight reel. He exhibited effcient and well-distributed slags to everyone, regardless if they were on the field. No one was spared from his "Game is WEAK" vs "Game is STRONG" insult offence.

I'm really surprised that no one has dared perform a goal celebration/dance, considering the chirping and field talk.

Will anyone??

Don't tempt Adam...

I got slagged by Geofford for squaring up a spike and not following through. But when you asked yourself "What would Justine do?", I can't follow that up with "Spike the disc in the faces of my enemies, to see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their significant others"

celebrations you say i will lean on my years of soccer for a spark of influence!

I threw an ill-advised hammer that Andrew Cameron was kind enough to catch anyway, then flew around the field like an airplane. I also made airplane noises.

Thanks for teaching me this move, soccer.

... "Was WEAK"

Just so we're clear, it was Keates Airways flying around the field, not Andrew.  In the next half of the game he chest bumped Rob after hand blocking him which I thought was a bit over the top...until I later learned that Rob called the hand block about 30 seconds before it happened.  Fair game.

Adam, it is more acceptable to spike here as opposed to...say...when you're up by an order of magnitude over a team of tweens.  Just sayin'. :)

i will need teammates for my future celibrations because reasons

Most likely because you need your teammates to throw you the disc to score.

While I think the touches distribution conversation might continue in this thread soon, I want to bring over the defensive stats conversation from last week's thread.

Can someone define the Mark Donahue Defense stat?

How well do you defend Mark Donahue next to someone else? The Mark Donahue Ratio?

For example, the Amos:Keates MDR would be 1:KeateswouldcrushMarkifhesatonhim.

Woah now, I've lost weight. I am pretty close to your weight!

I also have more D's than you. Step up your game, yo.

Seriously, you're still skinny!

Haha I can't help it if people want to throw near you. Literally people just yell on the field wherever I am so I can't be sneaky. The hell is that about?

Is parity almost achieved already, and it's only week 5! Final score for three out of four games had a 1-2 point difference. Game three still a score gap. Nice though.

I still think we have about 5 more weeks before parity is achieved.  Unfortunately, it'll be redraft time :(

My reason is sound yet I have nothing to support these claims.  I am a not fortune teller nor a time travelling ninja pirate.

I think we actually need 2-3 consecutive weeks of close games to achieve parity.  As for a highlight, I have to give it to Johnny Champagne for playing position on Mark Diggity for a deep strike, and then breaking him for the point.
