In case it piques the interest of any neutral observers of Monday's 9:30 game between Karma and Ignominious there is a small wager that depends on the result.
Both during and after the recent redraft of players a certain amount of skepticism ("You're going to lose big!") was expressed about a draft strategy that focused not solely on player talent, but also on talent relative to salary.
This particular wager, the parties to which can remain anonymous for as long as they wish, would have Karma supposedly finish the first 3 games with a total +/- of -21 or worse. Due to stubbornness and faith in my undervalued teammates I believed that we could do better.
Going into the game our results over the first two weeks after redraft are 1-1, with a +/- of - 4. Therefore Ignominious will have to deliver a 17 point win on Monday in order to make certain bettors whole. Of course anything is possible, considering a team lost by 20 points earlier this year. It could be a spectacle!
No matter the result of the game I'll likely be shopping in the Ferrari aisle in the forced trade week that will occur afterwards due to currently being a rather significant sum below the salary cap floor. Of course new high priced acquisitions won't be treated like primadonnas - everyone must endure the same diagrams in our socialist team paradise. From each according to their ability (goals/assists), to each according to their need (catches).

I'm so excited for...
I'm so excited for Mehmet to release v5.34 of his Karmic playing app. We all carry phones which vibrate when we should cut and zap us in the event that we take action that will disturb the balance that we're striving for. Hence the legacy name: Karmic Balance.
There was an issue with v5.32 where my zap/vibrate signal got mixed up and I got more touches than I have in any Parity game. The fix for v5.33 was good, but still got Mehmet a few more throwaways than he preferred. I'm confident he'll nail it this time. It shall be an ignominious defeat. ...see? The script was written long ago!

Check stats...
Andrew Cameron has 19 pickups in 2 games with me. His handling has been good, his cutting and goalscoring are still much stronger evidently, but soon might be eclipsed by his OF writing skills!

You, me and Stan are in the top 10 in pickups for the league but I hesitate to suggest we are competant handlers, Mehmet.

Firmly, firmly agreed.
I've been trying to give my teammates ideas on how to (gently) stop me from picking up the disc - no one has suggested a shock collar, yet.

Come now, let's put this in perspective.
The bet was made allowing for:
- trades to be made to improve your team
- things like Outlaws tryouts might wreck your opponent's core players
- knowing full well that Any Given Monday is a very real thing.
Basically it was a bet made where you have all the advantages! And actually, I think it's arguable I've already lost as the bet hinged was based on 3 straight losses.
I'll also note the bet was not made as a slag against you or any one of your players, as they are all very good players. But should we reveal to the league who your first round pick was (and who it wasn't)?

It wasn't Chris Keates
In fact, he didn't even go in the first round.

Bit touchy? Just trying to
Bit touchy? Just trying to provide humour for the masses on a Friday.
Every game has circumstances. If Outlaws tryouts is the only reason I won last week I suppose I'll have to accept that gift. I would have preferred not to play the 2nd half of the first game against Luke Parity (though they played so well it might not have mattered) with 5 guys but injuries happen.
I'd prefer not to publicize my draft picks or order - it was done in private after all. If anyone on my team wants to know when I drafted them I'll share (and following that they can do what they will with the information, including posting here).
To be clear no one slagged individual players I chose - there was just a fair amount of surprise at when/how they were selected.
Everything will balance.

Not touchy at all, I enjoy
Not touchy at all, I enjoy the gambling, the side bets, the social nature of the league, and of course, the additional opportunities to slag and be slagged. Also given my price point I'm more like a Bugatti Veyron than a Ferrari, so when you're shopping for me make sure you keep your financial planner on speed dial when handling the finer details of the transaction.

Maybe I should get in on this action? I'm calling the game for stats so things could be made to happen, FIFA styles. Usually I just say, "....Sul..." for every second pass, but I could switch things up.
