So I had this idea before week 1, which was already too late; but there was some interest and a collaborator willing to help get it off the ground. Life and technical issues being what they are, it took until now to make this happen:
Against my better judgement I have, with Bush contributing, put together a pilot episode of a Parity podcast.
It can be found - not on your favourite podcast app or RSS feed - but as a private SoundCloud post: https://soundcloud.com/user-640277634/parity-podcast-000/s-YL6qN
At best, it may generate some interest and continue; at worst it was Bush and I chatting about frisbee for a while - and me spending too long in my basement editing - creating fodder for more chirps. It's a little rough sound-wise (see technical issues note above), and format- and content-wise; but it's possibly listenable.
Probably.

Team Sass
Team Sass dream roster (based on current parity players, with me as GM):
Geofford, Alex, Al, Keates, Ariel, Morgan, Jay Thor, Dan
Kindha, Justine, Jessie, Laura Chambers

I find Ariel's sass weak. He often can't hear himself over his earbuds so I don't really even think he knows what's coming out of his mouth.
I'd put Dan on the roster twice. Just to make sure he shows up.
Or add Seb and watch Team Dream Sass become Team Game of Thrones (also convenient that Seb's team as GM was named Game of Throwing Shit Away or something like that).

Also, I just listened to the podcast. Geofford, you have an on-air dreamy voice. Bush, not so much!

He's an internationally renowned sports statistician, and he was probably in the middle of a TSA security line while taking the call, which is why it sounds so scratchy.

I yell infinitely more and louder than you do at the fields, Ariel. And yes, that means it's also better. Yesterday you elected to do pushups on the sideline instead of chirp. So horrible was your form that we had to actually take time out of our game to give you hell for it.
Be better. At everything. <3

Sass is a pre-req for Parity
The more I think about it, the more I realize that there could be a few dream teams full of sass. In fact, it should be a pre-req for next year. And maybe even a rating in leaguerunner: "Wowchuk's a 5 in terms of running, but she's a solid 10 in running her mouth off."

Kindha's SASS Roster would only be complete with the quiet heckling of Sully. We'd be unstoppable.

Good call. Sully could really fill out the roster with his understated but biting scorn. His high-brow wit rounds out the more obvious sass from Ariel and Bush. If I'm not being slagged by Sully, I start to worry that I'm such a lost cause that he won't waste his sass on me.
He's in.

re: new players and heckling
Speaking as one of the newer players, personally I'd love to hear it. Can't speak for everyone, but I think that being appropriately heckled and cheered just like everyone else who's "in" and knows each other well is a friendly, approachable and inclusionary ribbing. It's part of the appeal of the league I think...!

Kudos to the podcast creators
Kudos to the podcast creators. If you need behind the scenes help on coming up with themes or guests, I'm sure all of your fans would be happy to contribute (including myself). I do think that giving Sully a microphone and allowing him to share his "insights" on what is happening Monday nights would be awesome. He has many, many ideas on how this game should and should not be played and someone needs to give him a platform for our benefit!
As for possible themes, I suggest:
- pick a few players and discuss if they are undervalued, overvalued or properly valued
- look at statistical anomolies and discuss why they might exist (why was Jim 2nd in scoring after 4 weeks)
- decide once and for all who the best Lee is
- pick winners of future games with or without point spreads and ramble on why
- profile a player and interview them and confront them with their stats good or bad (i.e. Al)

Personally
I would like the podcasters to ask Hooligans GM, Amos Lee, when we could all expect the release of his boy band's debut album? I'm sure his band, All Hair, No Flair, led by leadsinger Hadrian Mertins-Kirkwood, with backup vocalists, Geofford Seaborn, Andre Scott, and Amos Lee, with Wing on the bass, can use this opportunity for some good PR.
