So Alex Bush has departed this metropolis to pursue dreams in the Midwest. Home to jello salad and perogies, His Purpleness and the most recent Nobel Literature winner, cheeseheads and ten thousand lakes.
Alex has contributed a lot to Parity (as well as other areas of OCUA, comp and Outlaws). He brought us into his alternate universe of statistical analysis and threw out numbers like addictive uppers and downers. He was always a quick and helpful reference for rules clarification and fact checking. He partnered to introduce the Parity Podcast, with arguably the best podcast intro of all time (very arguably).
Best of all was his post-Bush-Ariel-trade exit, henceforth known as the Great Parity Trade Debacle of '16. Amazeballs, as the kids might still say. Still laughing.
Good luck, Bush. It's been a pleasure!

...so I could have been
...so I could have been playing with F Bombs still? Thanks a lot Rob. Way to deprive me of Sully and Justine throwing to me.
P.S Bush, we'll (we) miss you!

Thanks
Thanks Justine!
I've been thinking a lot about what (or if I should) post here.
Let me me just say that Ottawa ultimate has been a great
experience for me. I've made almost all of my friends through
frisbee, I've had great coaches, captains, and teammates over
the years. There are too many people to thank but I will name two:
Jason Solomon and Hagan Riglin. Jason took a kid eager to learn
the sport and told me I could be better if I aimed higher and Hagan
really encouraged me try competitive, and gave me the opportunities
to get better (including picking me on the Geegees over Ariel). Two
great coaches and I hope every player has the opportunity to learn
from players like them.
I'm tearing up as I write this, but frisbee has been a huge impact on
my life. Thank you OCUA and OCUA family. I've tried to give back but
i can never repay what's been given to me.

Going to Miss You
Dear Bush,
Remember the good old days when you boned Darryl and I out of $5US and made us sleep on oily, red shag carpet in Devons. Or when you, Steeler, and TK got into a very loud anti-american tirade against another team on a U.S. military base. How about that time you shattered your leg while Martial puked into his own hands and you asked me if I could just "pop it back in". Then shortly afterwards, you tossed Kalie(10months old) around in the air while high out of your mind on prescription opiods and seemingly unable to coordinate the handles of your crutches.
I'm going to miss all of this about you old friend. Mostly because your smile reminds me of lighting the fuse of a powder keg.
Good luck down there and GFY

Alex, you will be missed and
Alex, you will be missed and I sincerely want to thank you for everything you contributed to OCUA. You're leaving some big shoes to fill.
Many people will remember your advanced level statistical skills, your 180 degree ankle, your tough mark, or your dedication to the rules and knowledge of Ultimate. The volunteer role few will know you by is 'coach'. You ran the Learn to Play league, coached Sunday night coed teams, and genuinely helped players develop their skills, no matter whether they were going to go places or to simply play league.
You were always willing to help develop the next round of new players and understood from the start that paying it forward was a good idea. I commend you for your efforts and wish you all the best in the US.
You're always welcome back to the OCUA community!
Chris
