Parity - Holiday Edition

'Twas the night before Parity when all through the dome
We thought to ourselves "who will take this dear throne"
The forum was hopping; posts added with flair,
As captains considered their costumes and hair

The players dreamt thoughts all snug in their beds
While visions of d-blocks danced in their heads
Keates in his pjs and Al in his bra
Decided on players through a process of draw

When out at the dome there arose such a clatter
it was Jessie's sad team - and what was the matter?
They should be moving in more of a flash...
to practice their flicks and 100 metre dash.

The moon shined down on their massive long throws
As they rise to the challenge of being below...
And what to my wondering eyes should appear?
But Haig weeping quietly... the 6s he fears.

And Cassie so bold - she's lively and quick
She's also pretty good at making a flick
More rapid than eagles, Justine did came
Don't judge my poor grammar - this poem is lame.

Now Hadrian, now Lance, now Johnny and Drew!
On Alisha, on Hannah, on Sunde and Proulx!
On top of the dome! And to the endzone!
We rock Jessie's team - they shake in their bones.

And then in a twinkling we throw a nice blade
And cheers from the crowd at the dome were made
I drew up my head and as I turned around
St Nicholas came through the doors with a bound

He was dressed all in fur from head to his foot.
And his clothes were tarnished like a Menace would
A bundle of discs he flung on his back
And he gave to Jessie's team to help them get on track

Sully's team twinkled and they looked very merry!
They thought this was the chance to beat the adversary
But try as they might they could not beat Jessie's team
Santa knew it all along and smiled with a gleam

Santa sprang to his sleigh and gave Jessie a whistle
thank goodness for Parity and I know that this'll
be the winningest team - it'll be a sight!
Happy Christmas to all... now trade with Mehmet...

<3 this so much

Somebody give this sugarplum a cookie.

This is the post and poem of the year. If after reading you did not have a tear in your eye, and smile on you face, I feel for you. With well thought out prose and loving quips and shots, it touched me right in the feels.
